Questions
- How do I get access after I pay?
- By hand, within one business day. Payment and your account are not yet wired together, so the account is upgraded manually and you get an email when it is done. If a day passes and nothing arrives, reply to the receipt.
- When do the email alerts start?
- Not yet. The daily digest is built and tested, but Canadian anti-spam law requires a published sender name and mailing address in every commercial email, and ours are not published yet. The sender refuses to run without them, on purpose. Save your search now and it will be waiting.
- Can I cancel?
- Yes, any time, and the plan runs to the end of the period you paid for. There is no contract and no cancellation fee.
- What data is in it?
- Toronto Building Permits (Active) from the City of Toronto Open Data portal, refreshed daily, geocoded and sorted by trade. Toronto does not publish contractor or owner names, so PermitIndex has none either: it tells you where the work is, what trade, how much it is worth and how fresh it is.
- What is a saved search?
- A trade, an area (neighbourhood or postal area) and a minimum permit value. Every morning the alert runs your saved searches and emails only the new permits that matched since the last one.
